Village Nominating Committee

Phyllis Cheskin, Currently, I chair the Eco-Landscape Committee of the Sustainability Task Force, and am on the Water, Trees, and Ravine Committee since 2022. I have a landscape design /consulting business (15 years) that has exposed me to a wide range of residents and issues on the North Shore. Other: I worked at the Glencoe Park District (GPD)-sponsored plant sale for eight years; volunteered at the Friends of the Glencoe Public Library sale; and developed the first Spanish language program at South School when my son attended. Previously I had a career in medical communications in Chicago and New York City.

Mark Peters,  I am a former member of the village caucus serving in the early 2000’s. I am a volunteer working with friends of the Green Bay trail and past board member of The Glencoe Youth Services. I volunteer at North Shore Congregation Israel in a variety of capacities.

Rich Silverstein,  Rich Silverstein moved to Glencoe from Wilmette with his family in 2016. Mr. Silverstein’s various civic duties have included representing Glencoe on the New Trier Caucus (2018, 2020), Avenues to Independence board member, Project Rubicon covid vaccination team leader and the founder of the New Trier Flag Football League. Since moving here Rich has developed a special appreciation for Glencoe and may often be found with his black poodle, Scout, wasting the day away in downtown Glencoe. He is enthusiastic to give back to our wonderful community.

School Board Nominating Committee

Meredith Hellebusch,  My name is Meredith Hellebusch and I love Glencoe so much!  I grew up here and later returned to raise my own family.  My husband and I have four children, ages 6, 10, 13, and 17.  They attend four local schools: South, West, Central, and New Trier.  I think our schools are one of the best things about living in Glencoe.  I studied Military History at Barnard College, Liberal Studies at Northwestern University and in my free time, when I am not driving carpool, I love to run, swim, and drink Diet Coke.
