We have two children, a sophomore at New Trier and eighth grader at Central. Our family has been involved with scouting and we are active supporters of Glencoe Family Services.
Jennifer Rapoport: I have been a member of the Lakefront Advisory Committee for three years. I helped for a committee to support the referendum for the Golf Club. And I have thrown 4 block parties on Longwood Ave. I am a mediator in Cook Country with the Center for Conflict resolution with a background in social work and community organizing. I was just trained by Resetting the Table to Build constructive communication across political and communal divides.
Edward Solomon: My name is Edward Solomon and I am a third-generation Glencoe resident who was fortunate enough to move back to the village with my wife in 2024. Growing up, I spent summers as a Glencoe beach attendant and winters as a Watts skate guard. Now you can often find me golfing at Glencoe Golf Club or walking the neighborhood with our dog Koda. For the past decade I have worked in advertising technology and this year my wife and I are expecting our first child. I am running for the village caucus to contribute to Glencoe’s success for future generations.
Emmy Berning Weisner: Emmy Weisner grew up in Glencoe and moved back to the area with her family in 2021. Ms. Weisner’s civic activities have included serving as room parent, as a member for the Glencoe Golf Club Advisory Committee, on the PTO and as a board member for the safe reopening of schools in her former school district, and as Vetting Counsel and Ethics Review Counsel for a Presidential Transition Team. With a Master’s in Public Administration and a JD, Emmy combines a public service background with a love of Glencoe.
School Board Nominating Committee
Catherine Berger: I am a working mother of two children residing in Glencoe. Since my eldest child began kindergarten last year, I have developed a strong appreciation for our school system and am motivated to support its ongoing success. Over the past five years since relocating to Glencoe, my wife and I have actively participated on the parent board of Glencoe Junior Kindergarten. I am a child of a public school teacher and a product of public schools myself. It would be a privilege to give back to our district and community through the School Board Nominating Committee.
Thomas Fishwick: I have a first and third grader in Glencoe schools. My father was a school administrator and my mother a special needs teacher. I would be happy to do all I can to help in the role.
Holly Knight: Holly and her husband Andrew have called Glencoe home for six years, raising four children whose attendance spans South, West, and Central schools — with their oldest heading to New Trier in less than two years. A sales and growth executive by profession, Holly has spent her career identifying the right people for important roles. She is eager to bring that same instinct and dedication to the SBNC, ensuring District 35 is led by the best possible candidates while selecting the strongest representative to champion Glencoe's interests at New Trier.
